Things as they can be:The current negative trend in our quality of life is not inevitable. Neither is it inevitable that it will simply reverse itself. We (humankind) have created our mess and we can change it. There is no quick fix and it will require the active commitment of literally millions of people. Technological innovation can help, but technology alone will not solve our most pressing problems. There is a strong social and political element in every problem that requires many people to begin making different, more informed choices.
