what we do

We partner with others to empower people and solve pervasive societal problems:

The sheer size and complexity of the problems we face in our nation require the best cooperative efforts of many individuals, groups and organizations. We partner with individuals and organizations that share our vision of creating healthy, vibrant communities as a path to a more just and sustainable world.

food

Local Food Initiative

We're involved in community gardens, food distribution and nutrition education directly. We're working to initiate a community center in North Carolina that will support these activities.

Our Approach
energy

Renewable Energy Initiative

We're advocates of saving energy today and developing renewable energy for tomorrow. We're committed to finding affordable sources of renewable energy at the local level.

Our Approach
youth

Youth Development Initiative

We work with high schools to help prepare youth for success in further education, careers and life in general. We believe a 100% graduation rate is realistic and essential for healthy communities.

Our Approach
lifedesign

Life Planning Initiative

We offer a LifeDesign Workbook and LifeDesign Workshops to help people gain control of their lives and their communities. We believe every person has an unlimited capacity to learn and grow. LifeDesign is a tool to facilitate that process.

Our Approach
economy

Sustainable Local Economies Initiative

We're working with the North Carolina Rural Center, Good Work and other partner organizations to focus on current and future entrepreneurs and local support systems, including other non-profits, community college systems and elected officials.
