Youth Entrepreneurship Education: "Life as an Entrepreneur"
They have a business plan, they've done market research, they have a financial plan . now what?
This is the question that we heard time after time working with youth, educators and faculty of schools and non-profits.
The importance of a business plan, financial literacy, basic business law, market research, etc. are essential tools to owning and running a business. We have the experience and tools to help your students gain this. But we also know that there are many programs and agencies supremely suited to deliver this type of education.
Where we step in are the intangibles - integrity, ethics, attitude, ambition, perseverance, communication. In other words, we support the efforts of teaching youth "what to DO" by teaching them "who to BE." Who they become in the process of being an entrepreneur - a contributor to society, a role model for their community and a leader for all they come in contact with are the key ingredients to having not just a business, but a successful business.
We understand that not everyone enrolled in entrepreneurial classes will become business owners. This is why it is supremely important to give them life-skills that when applied not only help them in business, but in their personal lives as well.
Our Method:
We utilize real-life entrepreneur's to convey their experiences, serve as mentors and role models and administer the designed curriculum.
We use practical, down-to-earth examples of critical skills in running a successful business and being a positive contributor to the community as a whole. Our messages are powerful, yet simple - "Do what you say you are going to do, be who you want others to be, you are 100% responsible for your future." These character-building lessons translate into more responsible young adults with an eye towards helping others as well as themselves.
The connection between the Entrepreneur and the Students is critical. We coach and mentor all Entrepreneur's who are active in the program on ways of connecting, inspiring and leading the students.
To begin our program we review the current curriculum that the school is offering and develop our "touch-points" to solidify the lessons being taught and to inject more reality into their understanding of those lessons. This type of "customization" allows us to support and augment the current programs rather than asking the teacher or school system to adapt to us.
We want to be a partner with you to help you achieve the results you desire with your students. Some people tell us that a 100% graduation rate is unrealistic. To us, the question is not whether it's realistic, but whether it's worthy. We feel it is. Please contact us to learn more of how we can help you, help your students be more prepared for life after High School - regardless of their chosen path or profession.
